Third 40k Montreal League

Ladies, gentlemen, and heretics,

40k Montreal is proud to announce the start of their third league. This is a Greater Montreal-wide League, involving all players no matter their gaming location. There is no sign up or registration, you're in the moment you participate!

The league is made up of three categories; Tactical, Forge, and Cult. Points are kept track for each category. These points are gained by participating in league games, painting/building your collection, and promoting the group. Rules and methods on how to do this are provided below.

Each of the league's categories has a title to gain, by obtaining the most points in that category. The titles are: Tactical Genius, Master of the Forge, and Cult Leader. A fourth title, Grand Master, is given to the player with the overall best rank among the three categories.

A prize will be rewarded to those who gain the titles. A further prize is given in a raffle to the those who did not win; for each point gained, a raffle number will be attached. This means that even if you don't gain the title, you can still win a prize, with higher likelihood by gaining more points.

The league will end on August 31st, 11:59pm. However, if things go well, the league will be extended a further month or two, depending on participation.

For those who participated in the previous league, forget everything you remember; the rules have changed!

RULES of the THIRD 40K MONTREAL LEAGUE

---------------------------------------
Tactical
Participation System
---------------------------------------

Points are gained by playing games of a specific format.

Rules:
  • Games are one of three formats: 1000 (1v1), 1500 (1v1), 2000 (1v1) or 2000 (2v2) points.
  • All games use the Scouring mission. This involves Fast Attack, and variable objective points. Details are in the rulebook.
  • All games must be reported to the league's page; state the day, the opponent, and the points. Example: July 3rd, Lex vs Felix, 1000 points.

Failure to report a game will result in no points (the servants of the emperor are not all knowing).
One (1) participation point is gained for every game you play, win, lose, or draw. The goal is to get as many people playing as possible.

The player with the most points wins a prize. Another prize is rewarded in a raffle for Tactical; one ticket is given per Participation point.

---------------------------------------
Forge
Army on Parade (AoP) System
---------------------------------------

Points are gained for every complete model you own in your collection. They must be models you painted, not someone else!

A complete model has:
  • Three or more colours
  • Washes and/or highlighting
  • Scenic base (sand, grass, stone, etc)
  • Details (eyes, accessories, decals, etc)
AoP Points are gained as such:
  • Small base (1 pt)
  • Medium bases (2 pts)
  • Large base (Weapons Team)  (3 pts)
  • Large base (Monster/Walker) (5pts)
  • Flying base (5 pts)
  • Vehicle (No base) (5 pts)
  • Special Character/Commanders (5 pts)
  • Conversions (greenstuff/plasticard) (+1 pt to type)
  • Awesome factor (basing, scene, pose) (+1 pt to type)
The army must be displayed in one sitting; a picture will be taken, and points counted. You can continue to add to an army throughout the league, but must bring your entire army every time (we want a great picture!).

The player with the most points wins a prize. Another prize is rewarded in a raffle for Forge; one ticket is given per AoP point.

---------------------------------------
Cult
Propaganda system
---------------------------------------

Points are gained for promoting the group, and each others activities.

Methods of promoting the group:
  • Recruiting new players
  • Taking pictures
  • Writing battle reports
  • Organizing mid-week meetup

Propaganda Points are gained as such:
  • Recruit a player to the facebook group (1 pt)
  • Demo the game to a new player (10 pts)
  • Return a veteran to the game (10 pts)
  • Make an album of pictures of models/battles (5 pts)
  • Write a battle-report (5 pts)
  • Organize a mid-week meetup for 40k (5 pts)
If you have other ideas of promoting the group, let your administrator know; he'll judge it to see if its worthy of the God-Emperor, and give you points accordingly!

The player with the most points wins a prize. Another prize is rewarded in a raffle for Cult; one ticket is given per Propaganda point.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good luck! And the Emperor have mercy on your souls!
